CSGSS Group Relations Reading Group: Focus on Application

The Center for the Study of Group and Social Systems (CSGSS) invites you to join a Group Relations Reading Group focused on real-world application of group relations theory.

PRIMARY TASK

Through large group and small group discussions, members will interpret the reading through their own experience to discover practical application of GR concepts in everyday life and work. 

READING

Group Relations Reader 1: Chapter 5 - Selections from : SYSTEMS OF ORGANIZATION by E.J. Miller and A.K. Rice (1975). The authors present a theory of the enterprise as systems of activity through which the import-conversion-export processes are carried out. They distinguish between operating, maintenance and regulatory activities, and define the mechanism of system boundaries that control the transactions across them. (see attached reading)
